First American edition. Folio. Printed wrappers. 7pp. Wrappers detached, dampstaining throughout, foxing, and edgewear, good only. For voice and piano. Plate number 29063, with a 4 in a seven pointed star on the front wrapper. This version was preceded by an 1825 composition by Burford G.H. Gibsone that extended the title to, "Ah Country Guy," echoing the opening line. The Sullivan Society records a version of this composition published in London by Ashdown in 1867, but does not record this edition, which we believe to be the first American edition of this Sullivan composition. *OCLC* locates only one holding of this edition.
