Book Condition — Like New: Signs of light shelf wear to corners of dust jacket. Otherwise, book is in pristine, original condition as when published. Carefully stored, the dust jacket is clean and free from marks, tears or rips. The pages are as new, clean and tightly bound, and have never been thumbed or opened. UK First edition (1971) copies are scarce. J.J. Marric, a pseudonym for John Creasey. The story follows Commander George Gideon of Scotland Yard as he investigates the seemingly impossible theft of a priceless Velazquez painting from the highly secure National Gallery. What begins as a daring art heist quickly escalates into a complex case involving a dead suspect, a kidnapping, and a notorious counterfeiting ring. Gideon must use all his cunning to connect the disparate crimes and track down the ruthless mastermind behind them.
