Near Fine in a Fine dustjacket. Forest-green boards. The spine is stamped in gilt. 351pps. Mild rubbing to the board-edges. There is a small price-marking in the upper corner of the ffep. Also, the pages are uniformly yellowed due to their acidity. The binding is square and tight. The text is immaculate; no reading wear. The dustjacket, glossy in a mylar sleeve, is faintly crinkled at the extremities; no chips, soiling or tears. The original price is intact. A very nice copy. ".In Shadows Over Castle Rising Fanny Cradock continues her absorbing saga of the powerful Lormes family. Newcomers will be as enthralled by this new volume as those who are already familiar with the first part of the trilogy, The Lormes of Castle Rising. Once again she has excelled in her ability to recapture the splendour of the Edwardian era, an age of opulence and elegance which ultimately was to end in the catastrophe of the First World War. The subtleties of the changing relationships between the aristocracy and their servants are memorably conveyed. Behind a sparkling world of coming-out balls, presentations at court and revered traditions, the persistent taint in the Lorme line results in a series of misfortunes that bring the novel to a devastating climax." Purchase with confidence: all books, gradings, and descriptions are rendered the care of a genuine bibliophile. Money back guarantee. Thanks for your interest in Nooks Of Books.…
