Glossy titled boards, light shelf wear. Pages generally good, clean with intelligent orange and yellow accent, underscore and notation varying throughout. Bind fine, square; hinges intact. Author Sigrun Haude examines the multi-faceted reactions of political and religious leaders to the Anabaptist reign in Münster (1534-1535). Haude begins this analysis with Protestant Strasbourg, Catholic Cologne, as well as the Rhineland, and then broadens the perspective to imperial estates and the empire. Haude then analyzes the representations of the Munsterites and juxtaposes the fierce language with the actions that were taken to eliminate the Anabaptist menace at home and in Munster. Useful for scholars of Catholic Reform, of the empire and confessionalization, Cologne and Strasbourg, and of Anabaptism. 192 pages. Insured post. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
