This VG- quality and likely first edition book was copyrighted in 1938 and published by the Reilly & Lee Company; it is 7-5/8" tall with 238 numbered pages of text. It is a format #2, as per Mattson & Davis. This book--with dark blue cloth binding and black lettering--has a moderate lean, is clean, free of edge dings with all four corner lightly bumped; the head and heel of the spine are also bumped, with slight color loss and wear. The bottom edges have a very mild amount of wear. The spine is not faded and is clean and the lettering is intact and not damaged. The lettering on the front panel is intact and not damaged. The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. The text paper is lightly toned; the pages are very flexible and not brittle. There are no illustrations. Both hinges are weakened--the end paper covering them has torn, exposing the cheese cloth beneath; however, both are still relatively strong. The book has no remainder mark and is not a former library book. There is no series list in the book. The VG- jacket is in one piece and is very slightly soiled but not faded. It has chips at all four corners and small chips with folds at the heel of the spine, with larger chips at the head of the spine. There is a 1" tear with folds at the top of the front panel and a 1/2" tear at the bottom of the rear panel, near the rear fold. The rear flap lists through the first 20 titles in this series.
