About this Item
40/90. Octavo. Unpaginated, 20pp. Original stapled tan wraps with faint mono print on front cover, protected in modern mylar. Original mono print, numbered and initialed by artist on front free endpaper. Original mono print on copyright page. "And, to use one of my favorite expressions: otherwise, I/m fine" McGuire ends his pain stricken monolog dealing with depressions, loneliness, the loss of a loved one to cancer and his excessively violent fantasies. Illustrated with two original mono prints and four b/w offset reproductions of the house he lives in and two b/w photographs depicting knots, straight, knotted and cut. Laid in two envelopes with original mono prints, one envelop is open with mono print on front and stamped pink title card with date and name of artist, the other glued closed and seemingly empty with mono print on back and title and name printed to front. An additional color Polaroid enclosed, showing bedding and presumably the artist's arm holding a card reading 40/90 in front of bedding. This project was made possible, in part, through a generous gift of the E. H. Barker Foundation, Ely, Minnesota. Light rubbing of wraps with small stain at lower staple front and back. Except for front cover and front endpaper block and back cover with some creasing in margin not affecting text or images. Wraps in overall good, interior in good+ to very good condition.
