The product of a wide survey of the architectural treasures of northern Thailand undertaken in 1965, many of which, even then, were threatened with destruction during the feverish modernization that the country was experiencing. Thus many of the architectural features and structures recorded by Jumsai are no longer in existence. The author/photographer is a celebrated architect in Thailand, the creator of some of Bangkok's most spectacular building designs. He is a graduate of Cambridge University (doctorate in architecture) and was named National Artist of Thailand in 1998. Dj stained and chipped, with small losses.
