Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Hardback in Very Good Plus condition. First published 1954, presumed first edition. Black boards are lightly bumped, have a few very minor surface marks, mainly along the top of the cover, otherwise clean, binding just slightly skewed. 223 pages, black and white plates, fold out map, complete, fly papers a little tanned and with very light foxing, otherwise clean, no inscription, tight binding. Unclipped jacket is Very Good minus, wear and rubbing to the corners, edges worn and a little creased, small area of loss to the top of the cover, minor surface soiling, spine tanned with small areas of loss, in the past reinforced with tape which remains on the inside, spotting along the edge of the rear flap. Moderate sunning to dust jacket spine, light rubbing and bumping to head/tail of spine and dust jacket, moderate foxing to back of dust jacket as well as inside flaps, light plus soiling overall. Book quarter bound in white cloth with red paper boards and black lettering on the spine. Light bumping to head and tail of spine, light discoloration to joints, slight shelfwear to corners and bottom edge.
