Item description from seller

Very Good+ in a Good+ DJ: The Book shows shows mild wear to the extremities; the binding leans ever so slightly while remaining secure; the text is clean. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of underlining, hi-lighting, notations, or marginalia. Free of ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, or labels. A handsome copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing mild wear and minor, unobtrusive imperfections. The DJ shows a little wear along the top edge of the front panel, with a couple nicks and snags; else, mild wear to the corner tips; unclipped. NOT a Remainder or Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo (9.25 x 6.25 x 0.75 inches) . Language: English. Weight: 19 ounces. First Edition (1967) , so stated, . Hardback with DJ. A clear, self-contained treatment of important areas in complex analysis, this text is geared toward upper-level undergraduates and graduate students. Chiefly classical in content, it emphasizes the geometry of complex mappings. Additional topics include modular function, Hadamard product theorem, and prime number theorem. William A. Veech was the Edgar O. Lovett Professor of Mathematics at Rice University[1] until his death. His research concerned dynamical systems; he is particularly known for his work on interval exchange transformations, and is the namesake of the Veech surface. In 2012, Veech became one of the inaugural fellows of the American Mathematical Society. Veech played a role in the Nobel-prize-winning discovery of buckminsterfullerene in 1985 by a team of Rice University chemists including Richard Smalley. At that time, Veech was chair of the Rice mathematics department, and was asked by Smalley to identify the shape that the chemists had determined for this molecule. Veech answered, "I could explain this to you in a number of ways, but what you've got there, boys, is a soccer ball." ; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; ix, 246 pages.…
