Hardback. First Edition. In Search of Butch Cassidy. Slightly sunned spine to D/J. Did Butch Cassidy really die in a shoot-out with Bolivan troops in 1908. The author says not, and in this fascinating book gives overwhelming evidence to prove that Cassidy escaped into Brazil, leaving his friend the Sundance Kid dead, and returned to America. In a massive piece of detective work, the author gives us Cassidy's whole life story, tracing his origins to a Mormon family who emigrated from lancashire to escape religious intolerance and with only a handcart made the 1300-mile trek across America to the Great Salt Lake. Cassidy's real name eas Robert Leroy Parker, and he began his life in crime as a small-time cattle rustler, graduating to the Hole-in-the-Wall Gang. Of Cassidy's daring exploits both then and later in Latin America, the author has separated truth from legend. The result is a truly riveting and enjoyable book. Illustrated. 294 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions, Reference books ,and all types of Academic Literature.). …
