Condition: Fair. 1886. No Edition Remarks. 265 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth with gilt lettering. Rough-cut pages. Black and white illustrated and photographic plates. Light thumb marking, foxing and moderate tanning to pages and plates. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Pen inscription to front free endpaper. Moderate cracking to gutters causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with visible staining, tanning and scuffing overall. The decorated endpapers are all present, with a neat ink owner's inscription to the reverse of the top free end paper, dd 1886.The blue cloth boards are in fair condition with some wear along the edges and a small tear and loss measuring 6 x 30 mm to the head of the spine and a similar worn area at the foot, without any loss.The binding is good with only a few strained joints between the gatherings.
