Item description from seller

4to 11" - 13" tall; 78 pages; Scanlan’s Monthly – Number 5: July 1970. New York: Scanlan’s Literary House, 1970. Single issue magazine in color pictorial covers with saddle-stapled binding. Soundly bound, bright and clean with no marks. Mild toning to the whites of the cover and just light shelf evidence to cover edges and surfaces. This issue includes major pieces on the San Francisco underground film scene ("San Francisco’s Film Bastards") , an exposé on commercial cookbook frauds, and Peter Geismar’s controversial essay "The CIA’s Cancer Cure: The Strange Dying Days of Frantz Fanon. " Also features Warren Hinckle on Maoist influence in Limerick, Ireland, and a selection of revolutionary Latin American poetry. A strong example from this short-lived but incendiary journal of radical politics, cultural satire, and investigative journalism. VG or better.
