This presents a history of the Saudi press since 1928, describing individual publications, printing and publishing arrangements; the Ministry of Information (established in 1955); radio and television (with first transmissions in 1949 and 1965 respectively); the Saudi News Agency (founded in 1970); the Supreme Council for Information (founded in 1980); and information policy and rules, with related law and policies in the Appendices.
