Edith's Howes' illustrated work of children's literature, a scarce copy of the first edition. Edith Howes was a New Zealand teacher known for her many works of children's literature. She received the King George VI Coronation Medal for her services to literature.The first edition of this work, a scarce copy. A tale telling of the magic of the deep. With tipped in colourful illustrations beautifully executed by Audrey Chalmers. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally smart with minor shelf wear, spine and boards lightly bumped to the extremities. Spine lightly darkened. Light soiling to boards and spine. Joan Fiske's bookplate to front free endpaper, undated. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. With tipped in coloured plates. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 814A5
