Item description from seller

First edition. The story features Lord Tilbury, who first appeared Bill the Conqueror the preceding year, and later in Heavy Weather (1933), part of the Blandings Castle series. It also debuts several characters who return in later works, including Money for Nothing (1928), Money in the Bank (1946), and Ice in the Bedroom (1961). The US edition was published a month later as Sam in the Suburbs, the title under which the serialized version appeared in the Saturday Evening Post. McIlvaine A35a. Octavo. Publisher's advertisement to rear. Original red cloth, spine and front board lettered in black. Spine sunned, fraying to ends, couple of marks to covers, inner hinges cracked but holding, occasional mark to contents: a good copy.
