About this Item
Bound in the original flexible embossed patterned cloth boards titled in gilt to upper cover, internally illustrated with one plate and a folding table of facsimile signatures, this copy also has loosely inserted an 18th century engraved plan of the Cathedral Church of St German in Peel Castle on the Isle of Man, Apparently the book should be illustrated with six plates, a frontispiece and a map this copy has only two plates including the folding table and the plate showing the grave of a Knights Templar, lacks the map the covers are rubbed and frayed at the edges with some lightened areas, a noticeable crease to upper over, spine cloth worn, internally some darkening to endpapers, some creased corners, the folding table has a taped repair with no loss else contents generally clean. An acceptable example of this scarce book, 80pp plus index , lacking a number of the plates so priced accordingly. Seller Inventory # 000344
