12mo. (22 cm.) [8]1-338p. Black and white frontispiece photo of Anna Howard Shaw plus three other black and white photos and one drawing )of Shaw's cabin--her early Michigan home). Red cloth with gilt letterson the front cover and the spine and with a black and white onlay of Anna Shaw in an oval cartouche on the front cover. Very minor wear to extremities with nothing rubbed through, Spine gilt dulled, cover gilt bright, all illustrations in fine condition, only to front over in fine condition, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. No dust jacket. Anna Howard Shaw [1847-1919] was one of the first women ordained to the Christian ministry in the United States, a leader in the women's suffrage movement and a medical doctor.
