Item description from seller

8vo in fours, pp. viii, 80; disbound. First edition. First performed at Covent Garden in November 1786. This is Pilon's last play, and is dedicated to Elizabeth Montagu. He first showed it to George Colman the elder, who rejected it outright, and only some time later offered it to Thomas Harris of Covent Garden, who accepted it and made it a success.
