First printing of this collection of classic poems alongside a stunning landscape for every month of the year. Thomas Locker's grounding as a second-generation painter in the Hudson River School deeply informs his illustrations. "I thought I would bring the world of fine art to children," he recalled in an interview with the VALLEY ADVOCATE in 2012; he illustrated 36 picture books to that aim, each full of stunning landscapes. 8.5'' x 10.5''. Original cloth-backed boards. Original unclipped ($15.95) color pictorial dust jacket. Illustrated in color. [32] pages. Jacket with mild edgewear, tiny closed tear. Bright.
