About this Item
Octavo. 40 pp. First edition. Removed from nonce volume. Respined with archival tape; title leaf once separated from binding is reattached. Spotting to front and rear pages; title page with small edge chips and one small hole at the top corner; small closed tear to the bottom margin of the first few leaves; contemporary ink inscription is partially trimmed, the portion that remains reads: "with the Author's highest regards." Presumably in the author's hand. On the supply of London and Southern England with coal from the northern coal fields by means of a railway. Mather fears that, because ship-borne transport of coal will no longer be required, some 45,000 British seamen will lose their employment. Seller Inventory # 8019
