of dark forces in world government. Heroes creator Tim Kring injects history with a supernatural, hallucinogenic what-if.
Set in the crucible of the 1960s, Shift is the story of Chandler Forrestal, a man whose life is changed forever when he is unwittingly dragged into a CIA mind-control experiment. After being given a massive dose of LSD, Chandler develops a frightening array of mental powers. With his one-in-a-billion brain chemistry, Chandlers heightened perception uncovers a plot to assassinate President Kennedy.
Propelled to prevent the conspiracy of assassination and anarchy, Chandler becomes a target for deadly forces in and out of the government and is pursued across a simmering landscape peopled by rogue CIA agents, Cuban killers, Mafia madmen, and ex-Nazi scientists all the while haunted by a beautiful woman with her own scandalous past to purge, her own score to settle. Chased across America, will Chandler be able to harness his shift and rewrite history?
Combining the nonstop style of Ludlum with the sinister, tangled conspiracies of DeLillo and Dick, and featuring cameos from Lee Harvey Oswald to Timothy Leary to J. Edgar Hoover, Shift is a thriller guaranteed to be equal parts heart-stopping and thought-provoking.

Store description
Quinn & Davis are Booksellers of exceptional used, out of print, scarce, rare and notable First Edition books. We are an internet bookstore with our inventory listed on the Advanced Book Exchange. We exhibit and sell at book fairs and occasionally issue printed catalogs. We concentrate on notable and scholarly non-fiction books about Texas, The Early Western Movement in America, Early American History, Military History, Political History and Politics, Law and Legal History, Biographies, and The Sciences. We are currently expanding our inventory of collectible children's books. We strive to keep our data bases current so that when you inquire about or order a listed book we will have it. One of our most important considerations is the book's condition. We use the following grading system for our books. VERY FINE. (VF). The very highest grade that can be assigned to any book. A pristine copy with no defects. Has that new book 'creak' when opened. FINE. (F). This grade lacks the crispness and pristine quality of a Very Fine book. Fine allows for only a few noted defects, such as minor shelf wear or price clipping. NEAR FINE. (NF). A sub grade of Fine and is only a very small step down from Fine. All defects will be noted and described. VERY GOOD +. (VG+). A small step up from Very Good and not quite as acceptable as Near Fine. VERY GOOD. (VG). A book that is attractive, whole and has had care. A very acceptable, collectible condition. All defects such as wear and soiling are noted in the description. We list all defects and then grade the overall condition of the book. You must be 100% satisfied with the condition of the book or you may return it for a full refund.…
