Fenner, [1743]. 12mo., brown quater-calf leather spine & gray boards. Believed to be the first edition. Amory was an English dissenting tutor, minister, and poet from Taunton. He published a number of theological works but this one seems particulary scarce, with none for sale in market place. Amory was much conversant with ethics, natural and experimental philosophy, and the best ancients, especially their morals. gOOD (some wear covers; contents fairly clean & tight, ink name of "M Deskfoord" on top of title page). $375.00.
