Cromwell's reputation, more than that of any other great Englishman, has suffered from the ignorance and prjudices of posterity. In this convenient selection from his letters and speeches the student can listen to Cromwell speaking in his own words, and can form a more accurate idea of his curiously involved personality. Cromwell's religious zeal and tireless physical energy shine out of these pages as prominently as his military and political genius. Ref WWW 2.
