First U.S. edition, first printing. "First American edition" statement to the copyright page. A detailed, personal, critical, and theater associated memoir and biographical study by an Irish tenement-raised part-time actor at the Abbey theater in the 1920s. Fifteen photographs and ephemera illustrations. Fine, square, tight and probably unread in bright lime-green linen with blind embossed publisher's insignia to the front cover, and with gilt embossed decorations, and slightly flecked-off burgundy titles to the spine, upper page edges burgundy; in a near fine dust jacket with a hint of fading to the spine panel, and four short very mild rub-lines to the lower front panel; original printed $5.00 price still intact to the front inner flap. NO remainder mark. Octavo; 213 pages.
