The South African born author was Rommel's personal aid in North Africa in WW2 and he later went on to commanded a Battalion in "Special Group 88". He took part in the battles from El Aghelia to El Alamein, as well as Tobruk, and the Kassarine Pass. A good insight into the leader nicknamed The Desert Fox. Sturdy red boards with gold wording on spine. Page edges has foxing. Dust jacket has some sign of wear along edges. Price clipped. Protected in a loose cellophane cover.
