Item description from seller
A smart first edition of this sequel to the author's novel Whisky Galore, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. First edition. The sequel to the 1947 novel Whisky Galore. Set in the Cold War era of post-Second World War Britain, this novel sees the inhabitants of a remote Scottish island resist a government plan to build a missile base on their home. Written by Sir Edward Montague Compton Mackenzie, a Scottish writer, cultural commentator, raconteur and lifelong Scottish nationalist. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is smart with light wear and the odd small closed tear to the panel edges. Light sunning to the spine with the odd small mark to the panels. Light age toning to the fly leaves. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Light age toning to the endpapers with a contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Very Good Indeed.
