64 p.; color photographs; 21 x 29,7 cm. Edition: 500 copies. 'Instant Ruins' is an exhibition in book form. The publication shows thirty photographs, which document situations and things the artist has encountered in the cities of Brussels, Genova, Marseille, Paris, Berlin, Rotterdam and Liège, from March 2010 to September 2011. The book is a response to the question of how 'the other' (the spectator) can overcome the singularity (the subjective origins) of the photographs while viewing them. nAll photographs are horizontally mirrored. This photo is like the ruin of a building that has lost its original function. The attention shifts from the content of the depiction towards the formal and aesthetic aspects of the photo itself. Since the photos are modified during the design phase (the mirroring), the design is an essential part of the critical process of this artist book. New.…
