Random House, New York, 1988. A fine, collectible copy of the second novel from this Pulitzer Prize winning author. First Edition, First Printing, as designated "First Edition" and number line beginning with 2 printed on copyright page. This was how Random House designated first printings during this era. For subsequent printings, they dropped the "First Edition" statement. A fine, hardcover copy, tan covered boards, dark blue cloth-covered spine with gold lettering. Minor wear/dings on bottom board and page edges from typical shelving. Pencil erasure marks on front free endpaper. Not ex-library, no previous owner markings, book plates, or remainder marks. Near fine unclipped dust jacket ($19.95 price intact) encased in protective dust jacket cover. Rubbing to front and rear covers from shelving, very minor chip to bottom of spine. Shipped in well-padded box.
