Item description from seller

A very scarce pamphlet regarding the Apocrypha controversy of the 1820s, the first edition. A very scarce pamphlet comprising a discussion on the Apocrypha controversy of the 1820s, extracted fromThe Christian Instructor for October 1826. The first edition. The Apocrypha controversy was a debate around the British and Foreign Bible Society and whether or not to include the Apocrypha in Bibles it printed for Christian missionary work, started in 1821 by Haldane and William Thorpe, who began a general campaign against all Bibles with the Apocrypha and their printing. Disbound. Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear and edge wear. Internally, generally firmly bound, with pp. 3-6 loose but present. The pages are bright and clean. Very Good.…
