First Edition. tall quarto, Embossed green boards, gilt lettering on cover and spine. viii, (272)pp., 31 maps. Government Printing Office, Extensively illustrated with 31 attached folding maps. A report presented to the House of Representatives on the topographical and hydrological features of the United States coast. Book donation plate on recto of endpaper "With the compliments of Prof. A. D. Buche, Supt. U.S. Coast Survey". Map 29 is a single leaf, not folding (as issued). A very good copy with a 2" tear in Map 1, a misfolded but undamaged Map 12, a tear on front endpaper with a small triangle missing. Five small discolorations to spine. Photos of Maps 12, 25 and 27. tall quarto, Embossed green boards, gilt lettering on cover and spine.
