Item description from seller

See photos for condition details. Hardcover, original 1860 publication in brown cloth, blind stamped design on all sides with front and rear showing the United States seal. Exterior shows edge and corner wear/chipping, spine is chipped at top and bottom as well. Internal binding of text pages is good and pages are secure. There is a small hinge issue at the front board near the bottom. Pages are toned due to age and scattered foxing is present, with the end pages and pastedowns being severe. No bookplates or library markings present and only handwriting found is on the front end page where the single last name of "Hawke" is lately penciled near the top. This can easily be erased if desired.
