A very scarce first edition copy of this fascinating report of the proceedings of the British Archaeological Association in August 1848. This work was edited by the notable British antiquary and historian Alfred John Dunkin, who was an original member of the British Archaeological Association, editing and printing an number of reports on the BAA'S general meetings. In a signed 'J. Leighton, Brewer' haff crushed morocco binding. A limited print run, with 'only Cxx., copies printed for private Circulation'. Collated, complete with twelve plates, one of which is coloured and many of which are folding. With an additional folding plate facing page 88. In a half crushed morocco binding. Externally, slightly rubbed to extremities, raised bands, and head and tail of spine. Bookbinder stamp to front pastedown. Prior owner's bookplate tipped to front pastedown. Internally firmly bound. Pages slightly age toned to edges but very bright and clean, with the odd spot. Scattered spots to first and last few pages. Very Good Indeed.
