(Betts: 24-59) First edition. In this book 75 lively and exciting chess games, won by world-famous masters in 20 moves or less, are instructively annotated. These are the outstanding short games of the past 100 years, and in the discussions emphasis is placed on the modern methods now favored by topflight chess masters. All annotations call attention to the finesses in the play which might be overlooked. They point up the general principles that are being illustrated. In addition, the bad moves which caused loss of games are indicated. Condition: Moderated rubbing to extremities.
