Item description from seller

A first edition of this illustrated historical fiction from British author G. I. Whitham. First edition. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and four black-and-white plates. Collated complete. A charming fictional story from the times of Edward III, also known as Edward of Windsor, was King of England from 1327 until his death in 1377. Noted for his military success and for restoring royal authority after the unorthodox reign of his father. Written by G. I. Whitham, a British author. Illustrated by A. A. Dixon, a British painter and illustrator. Publisher's catalogue to the rear. Dated from the British Library. In the original pictorial green cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine with damp marks to the rear board. Hinges starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting and the odd handling mark. Light age toning to the endpapers. A small tide mark to the front endpaper with school prize bookplate to the front pastedown. Good.
