First edition. Tall octavo. 479pp. Green morocco, heavily stamped in gilt. Text in various languages (French, English, German, Dutch, Italian, Russian, etc.). Engraved bookplate of H.O. Havemeyer, Jr., as well as another engraved bookplate stating "This book was the property of my Grandfather Charles F. De Loosey. H.O. Havermeyer". De Loosey was an important diplomat; his grandson, Havermeyer was a sugar refining baron, collector, and prominent club man. Corners bumped, splits at the top and bottom edges of the spine, else near very good. *OCLC* locates five copies, just one in the United States (Harvard). Seller Inventory # 341496
