Octavo; Frontispiece, xi, 228p. Original publisher's cloth boards with blind scrolled decoration, the spine with the original paper label which is now worn. Few scattered spots, couple of edge nicks to prelims. Binding is shaken with one or two gatherings proud/uneven. It would benefit from being reset in the boards but rebacking not required as the joints and hinges are not broken or split. A Good copy. *** presentation inscription from "Joseph French 1837 to his friend Charles Lockley Dec 8 1849." Presumably the copy of Charles Lockley (1820-1901) the distinguished English Opera Singer.
