Oversized paperback, x + 255 pages, copiously illustrated, NOT ex-library. Missing the front blank endpaper; short corner creases to covers and first pages. Else little wear. Book is clean and bright with unmarked text, free of inscriptions and stamps, firmly bound. Uncreased spine. -- This clinical guide provides a problem-oriented approach to the diagnosis and treatment of developing malocclusions in paediatric and adolescent patients. Deviating from traditional texts organised by appliance type, the authors structure the content around specific clinical challenges such as crowding, spacing, crossbites, and complex Class II and Class III discrepancies. The foundational chapters establish a rigorous biological basis for these interventions, focusing on the mechanics of facial growth and development to determine the optimal timing for interceptive treatment. For each malocclusion, the text presents a systematic methodology for diagnosis and risk assessment, illustrated through detailed, full-colour clinical case reports. These cases follow a "Diagnosis, Treatment, and Results" sequence, providing evidence of long-term stability and growth guidance. The emphasis is on early intervention to prevent the development of more severe orthodontic issues, making this an essential resource for general dentists, paediatric specialists, and residents. By combining practical knowledge with a contemporary, evidence-based framework, Araujo and Buschang equip clinicians to identify and manage orthodontic problems at their earliest stages, promoting more efficient and stable outcomes.…
