Volume 1, Number 1 - Volume 2, Number 2 (published semi-annually). Small quartos. Issues 1-4. Approximately [170]pp. Stapled printed wrappers. Each volume with the ownership signature of noted American psychologist Henry Guze (cofounder, with Albert Ellis, of both the American Academy of Psychotherapists and the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex) on the cover. Volume 1, Number 1 with a short creased tear on the cover repaired with scotch tape and the wrappers lightly toned, otherwise a just about fine set with light wear and a bit of light toning at the spines. The final three issues (in green wrappers) with a large order form for Ellis's work laid in. The first four issues of the cheeky journal dedicated to Albert Ellis's game-changing Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, a technique he developed in the late 1950s and first fully expounded in 1962. Ellis has articles in three of the four issues, but is very present in all of them. Notably, Volume 2, Number 2 publishes the presentation he gave during a public debate with Nathaniel Branden, spokesman for Ayn Rand's objectivist psychology. According to the magazine, the debate drew 1,100 people. (The presentation had to be cut for time and is presented in full here for the first time). Each issue is filled with articles related to REBT and ads for books and other periodicals. In the introduction to a 2001 interview with Ellis in *Psychology Today*, Robert Epstein writes, "Given these techniques [REBT] have now become mainstream, it's safe to say that no individual not even Freud himself has had a greater impact on modern psychotherapy." A run of the first four issues of a journal dedicated to expounding Ellis's Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, still somewhat in its infancy, that would go on to change modern psychology.
