Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. First Translated edition. A good, sound, clean copy with fresh looking cloth boards and crisp title lettering on the spine. Old library lending stamps for Central Libraries, Grimsby spread across the paste down and free end papers. Clean pages throughout, albeit with some foxing to the page block edge. The dust jacket is clean and not price clipped, albeit a little edge worn and has been selotaped down to the paste down pages with a small strip; this has subsequently yellowed but it has done the job of holding down the jacket and, thus protecting the book. In all a pretty decent copy of this scarce book. Seller Inventory # 011482

In the Belgian Congo a native radio-amateur switches on his set and starts to turn the dials. Suddenly by an atmospheric freak, he picks up the message from the stricken ship. After maddening delays he manages to relay the message to another amateur, a smuggler in the bay of Naples. ?Race for Life?, a thrilling and deeply moving tale of rescue at sea, is also a convincing reminder that there is a human solidarity which, in the face of distress anywhere, will always strive to overcome artificial barriers. This book was made into a film (in French) called If All The Guys In The World.* A NEAR VG copy of the 1st./1st. reduced by dust jacket wear reducing it to good.
