Black pebble like cloth blind stamped on front "Soldier's National Cemetery Gettyburg and in gilt barely visible on spine, small chip on spine corners frayed, rear back blank fly page mostly missing; On the pages following the lithograph of the National Monument through page 36 are either missing or covered up with various newspaper strips that include poetry, readings, philosopy, comics etc. previous owners name Laura P. McKelvey of Latrobe Pa.'s name in pencil on ffep. not known if she replaced some of the text with the newspaper strips ; additionally some other pages were cut out): pages 37-38, 41-42, 45-46,49-50,53-54,57-58, 61,62, 69-70,73-764, 77-78,81-82,85-86,89-90,93-94,97-98,101-102,105-106,109-110,113-114. It appears that the owner cut them out and was going to cover them as were the other pages but apparently never got back to the project, thankfully, There is one map of the Gettyburg battlefield and Union and Rebel hospitals included. Generally all the pages are without markings although typical browning . except for the missing pages, book is a great find, rare and collectible MORE IMAGES UPON REQUEST. All the missing contents for the missing pages can be found on line.
