Original brown cloth with elaborate gilt lettering on front board. 99 pages. Hawley worked as city missionary to the poor in Hartford, Connecticut. This title is of particular note for its albumen photograph portrait of Hawley tipped-in as the frontispiece, as issued. A "vanity" publication, not uncommon in this era, but undoubtedly published in very limited number. Faint stain to corner of front board, very good condition.
