Second in the cycle of four Berger novels to feature his memorably flawed character Carlo Reinhart, an army medic stationed in Germany during the early days of the Allied occupation, and introduced in CRAZY IN BERLIN. Author of LITTLE BIG MAN and NEIGHBORS, which were the inspiration of the movies of the same names, and some twenty-two novels in all. {This is a very nicely kept copy of the scarce 1970 Richard Barone reprint of the Scribner 1962 first edition.} Very fine, in red cloth boards, in fine, mylar-protected dust jacket. L187.
