Rare 16 pp stapled booklet illustrating the planning, design and construction of the new home of the Quorn foxhounds. Shows light wear from storage, tips not exactly straight. No ownership marks, tears or soil inside. Many b/w & color photos along with a bit of hunt history. Large item measures nearly 12 in tall x 8.25 in. Great item for collectors of foxhunting history and ephemera. From Pawdy Cross Roads to Kirby Bellars, considerable problems associated with the Kennels at Barrow on Soar, increasing traffic and mounting repair bills prompted the hunt to construct new and magnificent brick kennels in 1991. The Quorn Hunt, founded by Hugh Meynell in 1783 has under its ownership 20 coverts stretching from Kinoulton in Nottinghamshire to Scraptoft near Leicester. The coverts vary in size from as small as one acre to the largest of 38 acres. In all, the total acreage amounts to well over 200 acres, all of which is maintained and preserved by the Quorn hunt.
