Sydney, Collins, 1978 (first edition). Square quarto, [30] pages (including the inside surfaces of both free endpapers) with numerous colour illustrations by Dick Roughsey. Colour-pictorial papered boards; a fine copy with the near-fine dustwrapper. A Dreamtime story from Cape York; the book was the winner of the Children's Book Council of Australia Picture-Book of the Year award in 1979. Dick Roughsey (1920-1985) or 'Goobalathaldin to give him his tribal name, was born only a short time after European missionaries first set foot on his home island of Langu-narji, close by Mornington Island in the Gulf of Carpentaria' (dustwrapper blurb).
