Cloth rubbed and bumped at the extremities and slightly marked; top edge gilt, others uncut and partially unopened; front endpaper hinge split, and effectively but inexpertly stabilized; rear endpaper replaced; a very good copy. Provenance: Professor Archibald Grenfell Price, with his pencilled ownership signature (1939) on the front flyleaf. Beneath this is a 2003 inscription in pencil in another hand: 'Dear . this year I had many hours of pleasure finding old books as Christmas Gifts. I liked the fact that this book although not about Australian Aboriginals was written just befor Bob Randle was taken from his mother & their land, I hope it complements Bobs Book by giving a Authoritarian viewpoint although American Baced. Sorry if its Borring .'. The book referred to is 'Songman: the Story of an Aboriginal Elder of Uluru'. The author was Robert James 'Bob' Randall (circa 1934 - 12 May 2015), Indigenous elder, 'singer and community leader. He was a member of the Stolen Generations and became an elder of the Yankunytjatjara people from Central Australia. He was the 1999 NAIDOC Person of the Year. His 1970 song, "My Brown Skin Baby They Take Him Away," is described as an "anthem" for the Stolen Generations' (Wikipedia). Seller Inventory # 122714
