London: Macmillan and Co., 1890. First Edition. Octavo; xxiii, 299p. Four diagram plates. Red cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering to spine. Covers edgeworn with bumping to corners and spine ends, along with a couple small stains on back and some general smudging and soiling. Front board a bit shaky and book falls open easily to between gatherings, but binding is holding. Front free endpaper corner-clipped, with previous owner's bookplate on front pastedown. Pages toned with some wear along fore-edge, but with no tears or marks. [AB-217].

We ship packages daily using sturdy boxes with bubble wrap and packing peanuts. Older and rare books are generally wrapped first in non-reactive butcher paper. We generally automatically buy insurance for items $500 or over at no extra cost, but are happy to add it to less expensive items as well if desired.

Note on International Sales: We make it a policy to accurately fill out Customs forms, declaring the shipment as "Merchandise" and declaring the item's purchase value, and will not declare an item as a "gift" or falsify the purchase price to avoid import taxes.
