The Prostate: Facts and Misconceptions/the Most Current Information on Prostate Problems, Diagnosis, and Treatment Options BY H Salcedo, 1993, HARDCOVER in dustjacket, 1st edition. Diseases of the prostate constitute a major health problem for men. Cancer of the prostate has become the most frequently diagnosed cancer and ranks second behind lung cancer as the leading cause of death. Other prostate diseases such as benign hypertrophy and prostatitis are very common. Yet most men know very little about what the prostate gland does and the problems it can cause. This book meets the great need for sound information in language that readers can easily understand. It explains the various diseases of the prostate and details their symptoms to encourage early diagnosis and cure. It is commonly believed that prostate problems are limited to the aging. This book will relieve men and those close to them of much of the anxiety about the prostate and encourage early diagnosis and successful treatment of medical conditions.…
