Richard Carlile (1790 - 1843) was an important agitator for the establishment of universal suffrage and freedom of the press in the United Kingdom. Aimed at "equality between the sexes" should be the objective of all reformers. This is one of the issues written while in prison, this time for backing a campaign by farm workers against unemployment and wage cuts.
