Item description from seller

Pictorial business card. Measuring 4¾" x 2½". Illustrated with half-tone portraits of Kirkbride and Cummins (misspelled "Cummings" on the card). Fine. A charming card advertising auctioneer and real estate developer Col. Bob Kirkbride as well as Alva Oklahoma. The card states it was prepared "by the civic clubs of Alva to introduce a typical westerner." One side prints a portrait of Kirkbride with a short biography. "Aside from being a crack auctioneer and good businessman, Col. Bob is an A-1 sportsman [] even outlaws have felt the power of his unerring marksmanship. Once he played on an Indian baseball club, known as the Sioux Indian team" and so on. The other side prints an eight-line tribute poem by "Scott Cummings [sic], famous Indian Scout and Literary Genius known thruout the West as the Pilgrim Bard." Cummins was the author of several volumes of poetry, served in the Civil War with the 3rd Iowa Cavalry, and was a U. S. Land Commissioner for six years. An excellent and very uncommon Midwestern business card.…
