4to. Stapled as issued. Covers slightly marked. From the library of Peter Brook, with his pencilled notes. "Nothing is so gratifying to the connoisseur," reported The Times next day, "as the detection of a player of promise as soon as he makes a public appearance: such foresight was a possibility in the air at Her Majesty's Theatre yesterday afternoon when the senior students of the Central School of Speech and Drama appeared in extracts from plays by Farquhar, Mr. John Van Druten, Tchekhov, Shaw, and A.A. Milne." The anonymous critic commended the performance of Delena Kidd as Hannah in Milne's Before the Flood as "perhaps, the outstanding comic performance of the afternoon". Brook puts her down for the Sybil Thorndike Prize "for a performance by a girl". The Laurence Olivier Prize "for a performance by a man" he gives to Edward Caddick; the Elsie Fogerty Prize "for the best all-round performance" goes to Philip Bond.
